al. 1993 Burkholderia mallei (Burkholderia m allei) - a gram negative, nieprzetrwalnikująca, bezotoczkowa, ur zęsiona polarity which is the cause of glanders bacillus. Micro- organism was first described by Löffler and Schutz in 1882. The bacterium grows on simple culture media under aerobic conditions. Colonies grow on agar after about two days and take the color gray. Older cultures may have different morphological appearance of the bacteria (chains, etc.).. Reserve of coal is hydroxybutyric acid.
